Food, Nutrition and Dietetics department celebrates Poshan Maah

Nutrition Awareness Activity

September 26th, 2020 – 3pm to 5:30pm

The month of September is celebrated as Nutrition Month or ‘Poshan Maah’. Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science (Empowered Autonomous Status) in collaboration with Protein Foods and Nutrition Development Association of India conducted a Nutrition Awareness Activity.
This activity included a webinar themed ‘Curing Present and Securing Future with Healthy Diets’. Industry experts were invited to address the students on various topics related to the theme. Two intercollegiate competitions were also planned for the event to encourage our students to design resources that can help spread awareness among people. ‘Postermania’ an e-poster competition with the topic ‘Jaago Grahak Jaago’ was organized where the students were encouraged to explore various aspects of nutrition and increase awareness among the consumers. ‘Director’s Cut’ a video making competition with the topic ‘Poshan Ke Liye Paude’ was also organized to encourage the plantation of kitchen gardens keeping in mind the theme for this year’s nutrition month celebrations.
