First institution to offer Home Science programme at an under graduate degree level in Maharashtra.

1967

Honoured with the name of the Founder – Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science

1977

College shifted to the spacious 21 acre campus at S.N.D. T . Women’s University , Juhu, Mumbai

1995

Granted Autonomous Status by University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi.

1997

Smt. Laxmiben Thackersey Library inaugurated. Commencement of Self-Financed Program (Certificate/Diploma).

1998

Accredited by NAAC with 5 stars and institutional score of 78.3%. Smt. Pannaben Thackersey Sound Recording Studio inaugurated.

2004

Extension of Autonomous Status granted by UGC, till 2010-2011.

2004

Re-accredited by NAAC with B++ and institutional score between 80-85%.

2006

UGC coveted honor of College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) (2006-2009) Phase I. Initiated Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics (PGCND)- SelfFinanced Program.

2008

Golden Jubilee Year Celebrations & International Conference on “Multi-disciplinary Approach to Healthy and Participatory Ageing” .

2011

College inducted for CPE grant Phase II (2009-2012).

Initiated ONLINE and BLENDED LEARNING PROGRAMS – Advanced Bariatric Nutrition and Executive Program in Fashion Design under SELF FINANCED PROGRAMS
Organized a series of 9 webinars for 9 days in the pandemic conditions on YOU, ME and COVID – LET’S TACKLE IT TOGETHER !!
Adopted paperless working at all levels including admissions, results, Online teaching-learning, evaluation and examination
Initiated a number of student-friendly steps in the area of Mental health through SVT – Family And Child Enrichment Centre of the College.
