1) Communication Skills in English – Semester I (4 credits)

3) Conversational French Course – Semester  III (2 credits)

Semester I

The ‘Communication Skills in English’ subject offered in Semester I, aims to develop the language and communication skills of learners. The basic objective of the course is to lay a sound foundation of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills of English to enhance Communication Skills of the learners.

Semester II

Professional Skills in English subject offered  in Semester II enhances advanced skills in reading and writing, develops Professional communication and analytical skills of the learners. It also develops literary sensibility among learners  and  also develops inter- personal and professional communication skills.

Semester III

Conversational French Course is offered in semester III. Amongst all foreign languages French is a major language used internationally for communication. It is the second most widely learned language after English and the sixth most widely spoken language in the world.

This course provides students the required competency to communicate and converse in French Language with great ease and comfort to find a job in various sectors like Diplomatic service professional, Foreign Language Trainer, Translator for MNCs and Govt. Organization, Research Associate, Interpreter, Tourist Guide, Air Hostess or Flight Steward, Attendant at hotels, Online Content Writers, Technical Translators and Public Relation Officer.

Language Lab Software

The English Department integrated Language Lab software with the tutorials; The Language Lab is designed to provide a winning edge to students. It enables students to make correct usage of grammar in written and oral communication as well as helps to synthesize sentences for effective expression. It also aims at developing basic vocabulary.

The programme consists of three progressive levels. They are designed keeping in mind the academic pattern and style of Indian colleges. Each study level indulges in the key building blocks, developing essential skills from elementary to the fullness of the language rules. The language lab software is installed in a computer lab which has a splitter facility. This facility will be helpful for teachers to monitor students’ activities in the class.

This course delivers remedy to basic vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation in everyday speech through the Instructor Led Training (ILT) and speaking practice in the Computer Based Training (CBT) sessions in the language lab.
