Applications are invited for the following post for an ICSSR funded Short-term Research Project at the Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science (Empowered Autonomous Status), SNDT Women’s University, Juhu Tara Road, Mumbai – 400049.

Project title: “To understand the Reasons and Rationale of opting the course of Fashion Design by young Muslim girls in spite of having a strong religious tradition of Hijab, by conducting a qualitative research”
Project Duration: 6 months approx.
The appointment shall be on an ad-hoc basis from August 2024 till the completion of the project.
Essential Qualification:
Research Associate: Post graduate in Social Science Discipline (55% Minimum) with NET/ M.Phil/Ph.D + Knowledge in Research, understanding and familiarity with the religion Islam and the Muslim community is mandatory. He / She should have good knowledge & experience of Qualitative Research , Conduct FGDs, review the data collected by the field investigators and assist with other activities
related to the project.
Research Assistant: Ph.D/M.Phil/ Post graduate in Social Science Discipline (55% Minimum)+ Knowledge Research, familiarity with the Muslim community and good data collection ability is mandatory. He / She needs to have the knowledge of Qualitative Research and should be able to develop reports and reviews with reference to the data collected.Knowledge of handling and collecting Audio-Visual data is essential.
Field Investigator: Post graduate in any social science discipline with minimum 55% marks + Knowledge Research, familiarity with the Muslim community and good data collection ability is mandatory. He / She will need to conduct field surveys based on questionnaire shared, translate interviews (if needed) and complete data entry in MS excel. Knowledge of handling and collecting Audio-Visual data is essential. Remuneration will be as per the ICSSR guidelines given in the Sanction Order and the Approved Budget. A consolidated honorarium for Research Associate is Rs. 47,000/-, Research Assistant is Rs. 37000/- and Field Investigator is Rs. 20000/-. subject to applicable tax deductions will be offered.
